Speech signal processing techniques for evaluating reading fluency in children in the literacy phase, in partnership with CAEd/UFJF. Currently, 1.5 million Brazilian 2nd-grade elementary school children are being evaluated using solutions developed in the project. The project aims to develop solutions to assess disfluencies, reading comprehension, and prosody.
The central hypothesis of this project is that an automated Information Retrieval system using modern techniques can: i) Identify similar projects with greater precision, reducing redundancies; ii) Map potential collaborations through the analysis of co-authorship networks and institutional affiliations; iii) Optimize the use of public resources in research, directing investments towards innovative themes and avoiding duplication of effort; iv) Recommend specialized content, both textual and audio-visual (pitches, lectures, seminars), to assist in the development of new projects. This project aims to create solutions to reduce the cost of creating assessment items used in large-scale evaluations in the country and of applying pre-testing, through the use of LLMs and natural language processing techniques. Partner: CAEd/UFJF
